This is why we consciously remain a small-scale midwifery practice. This way, we can give everyone the personal attention they need before, during, and after pregnancy. Furthermore, the parents themselves are always central to our guidance. This means that you, your partner, and any children are welcome during our midwife consultations. Within our practice, we have our own certified ultrasound technicians and our own maternity care agency, ensuring that personal care is always at the forefront.

Home Birth in The Hague or Westland

Giving birth in The Hague can be done in various ways. We recommend discussing all the options during your pregnancy journey. During consultations, you can express your preference for a home birth or a hospital birth. We have a close collaboration with the Haga Hospital/Birth Hotel Haga and HMC. This ensures that you are in good hands if you choose to give birth in a hospital. However, what matters most is what you prefer!

Costs of Midwifery Care in The Hague

Midwifery care is specialized care for the (expectant) mother and her child. This care is provided before, during, and after pregnancy. The costs for midwifery care during pregnancy are covered under the basic health insurance package. This means that the costs for the midwife, medical assistant, gynecologist, and maternity nurse are reimbursed by the basic insurance, and you don’t have to pay out of pocket. This includes prenatal check-ups with the midwife or the standard 20-week ultrasound.

However, some pregnancy-related costs may partially fall under the mandatory deductible. Therefore, it is advisable to check your health insurance policy in advance or contact your insurer to understand which costs are covered. Care Contracts with Your Insurer

Our midwifery practice in The Hague has care contracts with all Dutch health insurers (and even some foreign ones). This means that we can directly bill your insurer for the costs. This makes it easy for us to focus entirely on you, the parents, and the arrival of your baby!

If you are not pregnant but would like to use one of our other services, such as a consultation about contraception, the insertion of an IUD or Implanon, or a preconception consultation, you are always welcome.
