During the pregnancy, three medical ultrasounds will usually take place. Those ultrasounds are necessary for the obstetrician and these echoscopy examinations are therefore reimbursed by your health insurance.
The three medical ultrasounds that occur by default during pregnancy are:
10-12 weeks : term echo
19-20 weeks: structural echoscopic examination (SEO)
approx. 30 weeks: growth control
In addition, there are 2 other indications for which the obstetrician can refer you to non-standardized examinations. These ultrasounds take place when there is (an indication of) blood loss during pregnancy or when there is doubt about the baby’s location around 35-36 weeks.
In our practice we perform the ultrasound examinations in the first and third trimester. This means that you can do all your medical checks within our practice except for structural echoscopic research (SEO). This will take place at The Hague echocenter, Het Haagse Hof.
The medical echo’s take place every Saturday from 12:00 to 17:00 at the Colijnplein.
